The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a similar environment, with previous lunch and brunch cooking positions as a strong asset. The Drake General Store is seeking a motivated and experienced STORE MANAGER to join our team. If you are design savvy, up to date with current trends, comfortable with books, clothes, jewelry, curios and most importantly, people, we are looking for you.
With three locations in Toronto (QUEEN STREET, ROSEDALE & BATHURST) the store manager is primarily responsible for maximizing sales through excellence in customer service, development of sales team and maintaining merchandise presentation in accordance with established standards.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
- Accountable for meeting retail sales and business objectives through the delivery of field level initiatives, strategies and tactics
- Plan, budget, direct and coordinate all special projects at store level
- Manage P&L, execute operations and merchandising standards
- set-up displays and manage inventory
- Coordinate with divisional heads regarding policies, strategies and recommendations for store operations, inclusive of merchandising, operations and staffing
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- General schedule expectations: 3.5 days in-store shift, 1 day spent travelling between all sites ensuring all store standards are met, ½ day meeting with head office/team leads
STAFF MANAGEMENT
- Maintain operations by leading, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Manage Team Leads and Customer Service Representatives in order to ensure the effective development and execution of long and short term plans
- Build & execute sales plans for all direct reports to ensure all are exceeding their targets
- Lead recruitment and training for all stores, closely monitoring on-going business needs, with an eye to seasonal volume
- Conduct performance reviews, oversee payroll administration and scheduling with the support of HR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated excellence in selling and service orientation
- Experienced retail manager with strong team, people development and leadership
- Thorough understanding of and ability to execute merchandising standards and store aesthetics
- Efficient time management abilities, organizational and planning skills
- Highly adept computer skills (Microsoft Office, Quickbooks POS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own a vehicle,
- willing to travel, as business needs require
Sound understanding of business processes and basic financial planning
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings and have an overall flexible schedule to assist in exceeding the store's goals

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
We are looking for hospitality professionals, who are motivated to create a genuine and unique experience for our guests!
Part-time Security Team Member –available evenings and weekends, minimum one year of security experience in a busy, high volume, customer service oriented environment. Security License is a must.
Part-time Food Runners – food running experience an asset. Minimum one year in a fast paced, high volume, service driven restaurant environment is strongly preferred.
Full-time Day and Evening Dishwashers – 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen role is preferred. Demonstrated initiative and desire to learn about kitchen operations in a fast-paced service-driven environment.
Bartender (Day Shift) - weekday and brunch bartender. 1-2 years in a fast paced, high volume, F+B environment in a similar role. Speed, accuracy and focus on exceptional customer service are a must!
Part-time Hosts - must be available evenings and weekends to act as hosts and ambassadors for our guests, as well take and manage reservations. Minimum one year in a similar role in a high volume F+B or hospitality environment.
