Born and raised in Montreal, AMANDA MABRO’s blend of dedicated artistic sensibility, emotionally charged songwriting and strong live show has inspired praise from critics and music-lovers alike. The Montreal Gazette named her one of the city’s most promising singer-songwriters, whose songs “grab you by the throat and look you in the eye with cool defiance.”
Her 2011 release Die to the Past was part of an instrumental musical shift from her signature jazz/cabaret-pop stylings to an unapologetically dense genre bending soul baring work. Amanda's latest effort The Lost EP features a co-written duet with Canadian icon and singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith, and will be previewed on May 22nd at The Drake Underground.
