  • Bursting Into Mud | Peaches Does The Drake

    In partnership with TIFF Future Projections Drake presents a new 3-channel video installation by internationally renowned musician and performance artist, Peaches. Stretching 30ft across the front windows, the piece will be seen by patrons inside the Lounge as well as passersby on the street, Sept 6-16 from sunset to sunrise.

    This exhibition takes a look at contemporary painting from a variety of artists who are breathing new life into art’s most iconic medium. The show is marked by vibrant viscous colour and highlights artists who are experimenting with paint, using it as a sculptural tool, creating images that are at once abstract and representational or revisiting the traditions of history painting.

    Drake’s summer exhibition takes a look at mixed media installations – specifically those made with reflective elements. From shards of mirror, to sequins, to lottery tickets, these works invoke a host of pop-cultural references, telling a story far greater than the sum of their parts.

  • In The Corner of My Eye

    Drake’s spring show is a featured exhibition in the Contact Photography Festival and looks at artists who use photos as a sculptural or installation element. With works by home-town heroes, Jeremy Jansen, Brendan George Ko and Nadia Belerique, along with Brooklyn-based Letha Wilson and Matthew Craven and Chilean artist, Maria Aparicio Puentes in her first Canadian show.
