This fall we were thrilled to collaborate with the AGO and support their Artist in Residence program, welcoming Mark Titchner to stay with us for a couple of months. As part of his practice, Titchner creates urban murals and text-based installations. Over the last few weeks he’s been getting to know Toronto and working on a couple of public works. The first piece is being installed today, right here at the Drake, right above the 50/50.
A U.K.-born, London-based artist, Mark Titchner was a Turner Prize nominee in 2006. His work was showcased at the Venice Biennale in 2007, and he has had solo exhibitions at the notable Peres Projects, Berlin, BALTIC, Gateshead, and Vilma Gold, London.
