What could be better on a beautiful fall day than heading out to Wellington, Prince Edward County to check on the progress of our beautiful new Inn-to-be; the Drake Devonshire?
A bunch of Drake staffers hit the road (recent Polaris winner Feist made for great Sunday morning tunes) to go catch the quiet moment in between construction phases. Our team of architects, project managers and designers that have been working on the Inn have carefully preserved the original building structure, which used to be a Foundry. You can see it below. The newer buildings have been stripped away and it couldn’t look more beautiful with such a blue sky! (Can you tell we’re excited?)
The next stage of construction will include pouring the foundations for the rebuild portion of the project. And then more construction. And then just a few more important details before we can welcome you into our new hotbed for culture. We’ll keep you posted!
Obviously we couldn’t leave without stopping at such a picturesque Farmer’s Market. Local ingredients are one of the reasons we’re so excited to arrive in the County (we already use loads of them in our Toronto kitchen).
We’re excited to keep you up to date as Drake Devonshire takes shape. Speak soon!
The Devonshire hovers right over Lake Ontario. The grass line is in the water! Here’s a photo of our Inn’s backyard.
